Daca grants hundreds of thousands of immigrants limited protections for certain people brought to the USA as a child meeting other criteria as well. The judge set an early April deadline for both sides to file additional documents. Daca grants the eligible individuals these limited protections in two year increment.
DACA is not a right, therefore you can meet all the criteria and still be denied the limited protections. This reason alone should make anyone serious about staying here with deferred action to hire a lawyer. A lawyer does not mean you will be granted status either. However, a lawyer trained in these matters, like National Immigration Attorneys in most cases will increase the odds of New Daca, Renewal Daca and Advance Parole (a petition that lets a Daca receipient to leave the country and come bacnk in legally) of being granted.
The debate on capitol hill is ongoing and the likelihood of Biden signing a bill before summer appears to be dwindling. However, this is when things tend to happen in D.C. Stay Tuned!
